What is CompTIA CySA+ CS0-004 training?

CompTIA CySA+ training is an intermediate-level course that teaches analysis and defense techniques, using data and tools to find risks to an organization and apply the right mitigations. It covers the four domains of the new CS0-004 exam: Security Operations (34%), Vulnerability Management (26%), Incident Response and Management (24%) and Reporting and Communication (16%).

The course combines live classes, study material, practice questions and hands-on labs aligned with the exam. Beyond exam day, it prepares you for roles such as security analyst, SOC analyst, threat analyst and vulnerability analyst. CySA+ is approved under U.S. DoD Directive 8140/8570.

CS0-004 at a glance: up to 85 questions, 165 minutes, passing score 750 (on a scale of 100–900). The previous CS0-003 exam retires in English on December 22, 2026.

What are the prerequisites for CompTIA CySA+ training?

There are no required prerequisites for the course or the exam. CompTIA recommends Network+ and Security+ or equivalent knowledge, and about 4 years of hands-on experience as a SOC analyst or vulnerability analyst. Following CompTIA's cybersecurity pathway (A+, Network+, Security+, then CySA+) gives you the best chance of success.
