How long is the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) course, and when does it start?

What is the CIPP/US exam format?

  • Taken at a Pearson VUE test center or online with remote proctoring
How much does the CIPP/US exam cost?

The CIPP/US exam costs US$550 for a first attempt, the same for IAPP members and non-members. After you pass, you activate the credential through IAPP membership or a certification maintenance fee. The IAPP sets these fees and can change them, so check the IAPP website before you register.

Are there prerequisites for CIPP/US?

No. Anyone can take the CIPP/US exam. The IAPP recommends at least 30 hours of preparation; this course gives you 24 hours of live instruction plus mock exams and a personal study plan.
