What is CPHQ certification training?

CPHQ certification training is a live online course that prepares you for the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) exam from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). It covers the competencies the exam tests: quality leadership and integration, performance and process improvement, health data analytics, patient safety, quality review and accountability, population health and care transitions, and regulatory and accreditation.The CPHQ exam has 140 multiple-choice questions, 125 of them scored, with a 3-hour limit and a passing scaled score of 600. How long is the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) course, and when does it start?

The course runs for 30 hours of live, instructor-led online training across 15 sessions. Weekend and weekday batches are available, and the next batch starts on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

What is the CPHQ exam format?
  • 140 multiple-choice questions: 125 scored and 15 unscored pretest questions
  • 3 hours to complete
  • Scaled score from 200 to 800; 600 is a pass
  • Delivered by PSI, online with a remote proctor or at a test center
How much does the CPHQ exam cost?

In the US, the CPHQ exam costs US$519 for NAHQ members and US$619 for non-members. Outside the US it costs US$579 for members and US$679 for non-members. NAHQ sets these fees and can change them, so check NAHQ before you register.

Who is eligible for the CPHQ exam?

There are no formal eligibility requirements. NAHQ recommends at least 2 years of work experience in healthcare quality before you take the exam.

When will I get my CPHQ results?
  • In the US, you see an unofficial score report as soon as you finish the exam.
  • Your certificate and digital badge arrive by email within about 2 weeks of passing.
  • Outside the US, scores are released about 8 weeks after the testing window closes.
