Is the CBAP exam difficult?

Yes, the CBAP exam is one of the harder business analysis exams, because its questions test how you apply the BABOK® Guide to real situations rather than how well you remember theory. With a clear study plan, it is very passable. A simple approach:

  • Set a target exam date
  • Study the BABOK® Guide thoroughly
  • Choose a good question bank and practice with case-based questions
  • Set a target practice score
  • Practice managing your time
What is the passing score for the CBAP exam?

IIBA® does not publish a passing score for the CBAP® exam. After the exam, you get performance indicators for each knowledge area. As a safe target, aim for at least 75% in your practice tests across all knowledge areas.

How long is the CBAP exam?

The CBAP® exam has 120 questions, and you get 3.5 hours to answer them.

How many times can I take the CBAP exam?

After IIBA approves your application, you can take the CBAP exam up to three times within your one-year eligibility period. If you do not pass in three attempts, you must wait until that period ends and submit a new application.

How do I fill out the CBAP exam application?

First, make sure you meet IIBA's CBAP requirements. Then:

  1. Create an account on the IIBA website and record your work hours in each knowledge area.
  2. Go to Certifications, then My Certifications, and complete the CBAP application form.
  3. Once approved, click Schedule Exam. You will be taken to the PSI scheduling page to book your exam at a convenient time.
What is the CBAP exam format?

The CBAP exam lasts 3.5 hours and has 120 multiple-choice questions. Many questions are based on case studies and test how you apply business analysis knowledge and skills at the level of IIBA's Level 3 certification.

Will I get a certificate after the CBAP® Certification training?

Yes. You receive a CertOcean certificate of completion when you finish the training. The official IIBA certification is awarded by IIBA when you pass the exam, and this course prepares you for it.

What if I don't pass the CBAP® Certification exam?

Your enrollment is covered by CertOcean's pass or full refund guarantee. If you don't clear the exam, you can claim a full refund under the guarantee terms.
